Healthy Living Center

Philosophy and Educational Statement

The first definition of the word “doctor” in the dictionary is teacher. In this spirit, a naturopath may be understood as a teacher of natural principles and practices that support health, wellness, and longevity.

Naturopathy, as presented by the Healthy Living Center, is not intended to represent a system of medical diagnosis or treatment such as those practiced within conventional medical societies. Rather, it is an educational approach and lifestyle philosophy centered on natural practices that may support the body’s inherent capacity for health, wellness, and balanced function.

We believe that every individual has the right to learn about natural, God-given principles that can contribute to mental, physical, and emotional well-being. To support this purpose, the Healthy Living Center provides educational training designed first and foremost for an individual’s own personal growth and development. After gaining personal knowledge and experience, participants may, at their own discretion, use what they have learned to educate and encourage others.

The philosophy of naturopathy encompasses a broad range of natural health principles, including:

  • Pure, clean water
  • Fresh, clean air
  • Wholesome, nourishing foods
  • Proper diet and nutrition
  • Regular and appropriate exercise
  • Healthy and responsible living practices
  • Adequate rest and recovery
  • Positive and constructive thinking
  • Avoidance of harmful or toxic substances
  • Healthy body ecology
  • Effective stress management
  • Other natural practices that contribute to a balanced and healthy lifestyle

The Healthy Living Center is intended for individuals who are receptive to and supportive of these principles and who wish to incorporate them into their own lives.

We believe that physical health is closely connected to the universal principle of cause and effect. As the Scriptures teach, “A man reaps what he sows.” The choices we make regarding how we care for our bodies can have significant physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual consequences. These choices may also influence the health and well-being of future generations.

When unhealthy practices have contributed to an imbalance in the body, our philosophy emphasizes identifying and removing the physical, environmental, lifestyle, and spiritual obstacles that may interfere with the body’s natural processes of restoration and healing.

Ultimately, the purpose of the Healthy Living Center is to educate, empower, and encourage individuals to take greater responsibility for their health by learning and applying sound natural principles in their daily lives.

Our goal is not simply to teach people what to do, but to help them understand why healthy choices matter and how those choices can become a sustainable way of life.
